Collecting horses is something that many players love doing in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. However, some fans might be considered if all of their hard work and time is lost now that the open-world series is getting a sequel, Tears of the Kingdom. Stables allow Zelda players to tame and keep horses and different mounts throughout the game, as they’re the ideal places for their safekeeping. It is obvious why this is an important feature, and with their being rare horses players have ground the game for, it is all the more reason. Luckily, players will be able to rest assured that it is possible to transfer the horses from the first game to the sequel. Here is how to get important imported horses from Breath of the Wild to Tears of the Kingdom.

Players who put a ton of hours into The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild can be relieved knowing they can move their beloved horses over without struggle. Unlike other games, transferring players’ save file to The Legend of Zelda: Tears of Kingdom works very simply. Sometimes anything to do with saved data can be a tricky situation, but Nintendo took care of that with Zelda and made it player friendly.

That being said, Tears of the Kingdom supports cross-save when it comes to horses. After a player downloads the new Zelda game to their Nintendo Switch that also has Breath of the Wild installed as well, the first step is complete. There is much more work required from here after both games are installed on the console.

Nonetheless, the only important thing the player needs to do is to ensure they have made it to the stables. Having progress in Tears of the Kingdom far enough to have unlocked a stable is important, as this is where horses are accessed.

Now, after unlocking the stable, players can go inside to find many horse-related features, including the one that allows players to transfer their mounts. Once bringing up the menu that allows horses to be transferred, it will show all the mounts from Breath of the Wild that have been collected. From there, one can be selected to proceed with transferring over to the second game.

Now the mount can be ridden throughout Hyrule for a more speedy journey. Whatever horses and mounts have been transferred to Tears of the Kingdom will remain there for later use. That’s how to transfer from Breath of the Wild to Tears of the Kingdom.

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is available now on Nintendo Switch.
