Influence is a currency in Manor Lords that can dictate how well you’ll dominate the map and your enemies. It’s one of the harder currencies to obtain in Manor Lords, however. You might even need to rethink your approach to the game; cozying up in your countryside manor and waiting for enemies to make their move isn’t how you get Influence in Manor Lords. I propose a more aggressive or at least proactive approach, and this guide should help you.

There are two consistent ways to earn Influence at the moment. One is through the Church Tithe and the other is through battle (more on that later). The Church is the more peaceful way of getting Influence.

If you’re after a pacifist method, here’s how to gain Influence via the Church.

  1. Build a Wooden Church (Construction > Residential tab) and try to upgrade it to a Small Stone Church ASAP (the upgrade is optional).
  2. Build a Manor (Construction > Administration tab).
  3. Select the Manor once it’s done, go to the Taxes tab, and set the Tithe amount to whatever you’re comfortable with. You’ll be donating a percentage of your Food to the Church in exchange for Influence.

The method is peaceful, but it can be slow. Still, you can do this for each Manor and Church in each province, so it adds up. The faster method involves violence…

For this method, you need to have certain gameplay metrics enabled in the New Game option. So if you have some of the following disabled, you’re out of luck and might need to start over.

  • Enable Bandits.
  • Set Armament Delivery to ‘Yes’
  • (Optional) Disable the off-map A.I. Baron enemy so he won’t claim regions and wipe out all the Bandits.
  • (Optional) Set Starting Supplies to ‘Double‘

The Armament Delivery gives you 20 Spears and 20 Large Shields, allowing you to form 20 Militia Spearmen right away. Alternatively, you can build a Manor and form a retinue of 12 to 24 soldiers, but the 20 Militia Spearmen is cheaper.

Anyway, here’s how to earn Influence fast using this method:

  1. Form 20 Spearmen or 12-24 Retinue Soldiers (Manor).
  2. Rally your troops to any spot in your region.
  3. Zoom out and look for Bandit Camps (refer to the image above for its appearance).
  4. Bring your troops near the Bandit Camps and attack approaching the Brigands.
  5. Either wait for the Brigands to respawn or visit other Bandit Camps and defeat the Brigands again and again.

Winning a battle against Brigands grants 100-300 Influence. As long as you have Brigands to attack and troops with which to attack them, you can consistently farm Influence to purchase multiple or all provinces.

Once you have at least 1,000 Influence, zoom out all the way back and check any unclaimed (white border) regions. Select any unclaimed region and select ‘Claim with Influence’ at the bottom of the screen.

You’ll spend 1,000 Influence, and the game will give any contender enough time to react to your claim. If anyone objects to your claim during the claiming window, you have to go to war with them and defeat them for the region. Hopefully, you have enough troops for this land-grabbing attempt.
