This article is over 2 years old and may contain outdated information.

Iridium Ore is a high-end metal resource in Stardew Valley that players can use to smelt the Iridium Bar, a necessary material for crafting late-game recipes, structures, and equipment. These recipes include the powerful Iridium Tool Set, the Iridium Band, the Crystalarium for duplicating minerals, and all four Obelisks. By itself, Iridium Ore’s raw form can also be used to craft the Deluxe Scarecrow and the Warp Totem: Desert. Both of these items have high utility, but players are better off investing their Iridium Ore into the recipes using Iridium Bar in Stardew Valley.

Finding Iridium Ore in Stardew Valley in the Skull Caverns

There are multiple methods of getting Iridium Ore in Stardew Valley. The Ore can be purchased from Krobus or the Traveling Cart. It can also be mined from Iridium Nodes found in The Mines, Quarry, and Skull Cavern. Out of these sources, the Skull Cavern is the best place to farm Iridium Ore.

For those unfamiliar with the Skull Cavern, it is a location similar to The Mines in the Desert. To access the Desert for the first time, players must complete all the Vault Bundles at the Community Center, after which Pam will become the bus driver at the Bus Stop. The Skull Cavern has a locked entrance that can only be opened using the Skull Key, an item that can be acquired by reaching Floor 120 of The Mines. Once unlocked, players can enter the Skull Cavern and brave its depths to find an abundance of Iridium Ore. However, the cavern is significantly more dangerous to The Mines, as it is home to all manner of dangerous monsters that can deal substantial damage.

Nonetheless, once players are properly equipped for mining expeditions, they can enter the Skull Cavern whenever they please to farm Iridium Ore. While Pam’s bus service is useful for accessing the Desert at the beginning, YouTuber mGaud recommends that players save time by accumulating Warp Totems: Desert from the Desert Trader for Omni Geodes. Additionally, a solid way to quickly navigate through the levels of the Skull Cavern is by mass-producing Jades using Crystalariums and trading them for Staircases at the Desert Trader. This approach enables players to quickly get through floors lacking nodes or are too dangerous.

Stardew Valley is available on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, iOS, Android, and PC.
