In the new Pokémon game, Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, Paradox Pokémon, like Iron Thorns have been added in to give us something to work on once we’ve completed the game’s main story. Paradox Pokémon are either futuristic or ancient versions of Pokémon that we already know and love, but each is specific to one of the game’s versions. In this case, we will be talking about the futuristic version of Tyranitar in Pokémon Violet. Keep reading to learn how you can get this beautiful futuristic dinosaur, Iron Thorns, in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet.
Pokémon Scarlet and Violet: How to Get Iron Thorns
Following suit with the other Paradox Pokémon in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, you can only access Iron Thorns once you’ve completed Starfall Street, Path of Legends, and Victory Road, as well as completing all of the Research Stations. Once you’ve done all of this, you can begin The Way Home story and make your way deep underneath Paldea to the Great Crater of Paldea, Area Zero.
To begin with, you’ll want to make sure that you are currently playing Pokémon Violet rather than Pokémon Scarlet. All of the futuristic Paradox Pokémon, like Iron Thorns, can be found in Pokémon Violet, while all of the ancient Paradox Pokémon can be found in Pokémon Scarlet.
Once you’re ready to go looking for Iron Thorns, you’ll want to use the Zero Gate to teleport yourself over to Research Station #2. Once you’re there, you’ll want to head outside of the building and turn to your left. There should be a rocky-looking slope in front of you. Head for that and start looking around. This is one of the most common areas for Iron Thorns to spawn, and the place where you’ll have the best chance at catching it. Keep in mind that Iron Thorns isn’t an extremely common Pokémon, so this may take quite a bit of wandering around and waiting.
