Gathering resources is a vital part of any crafting game, and Palworld is no exception. When it comes to getting leather, however, you can’t just do the Minecraft thing and punch a few trees to get the drops you want. Leather is an animal product which means, you guessed it, you need to get it from animals. Is butchering adorable Pals for leather mean? Maybe a bit. But you’ll need to embrace your inner Cruella de Vil if you want to make clothes to endure the harsh environment. Here’s how to get leather in Palworld.
Which Pals Drop Leather?
There are several Pals in Palworld that drop leather, so it’s not too difficult of a resource to get. Not every Pal spawns near the starting area, so some sources of leather are easier to access than others. You don’t need to kill a Pal to get leather from it, although that’s an option. Pals with leather as loot can drop it when killed, captured, or butchered, giving you several decent options. Here’s a list of some Pals that drop leather when defeated:
- Foxparks (No. 5, Fire-type)
- Fuack (No. 6, Water-type)
- Vixy (No. 14, Neutral-type)
- Fuddler (No. 22, Ground-type)
- Direhowl (No. 26, Neutral-type)
Knowing the type of Pal you must defeat makes planning for hunting expeditions easier, but you can find low-level variants of most of these Pals near the starting area. Journey a short distance down the hills and you’ll probably encounter some Foxparks before you get to the beach. Foxparks is also a good early source of Flame Organs, so if you want to get your hands on a Fire Bow, you have twice as many reasons to do some fox hunting. Palworld also rewards you with an XP bump for catching 10 of the same Pal, so you have a good incentive to farm the same Pal for leather if you’re still collecting some of the best early-game Pals.
Palworld is available for the PC in early access.
