Pokemon Scarlet and Violet add a new knight-themed Pokemon called the Charcadet, which can evolve into two different beings depending on which version of the game you own. To evolve the spectral, tiny squire Charcadet into a full-fledged shadowy knight called Ceruledge, you will need the Malicious Armor item in Pokemon Violet; here’s how you can obtain one.
Pokemon Violet – Malicious Armor Location
You can trade 10 Sinistea Chips for a Malicious Armor with the Denim Damsel NPC (with the “Fancy a trade?” yellow speech bubble) near the Poison Team Star Base in Zapapico. Zapapico is only accessible after you get the Surf Upgrade for Miraidon by defeating the Open Sky Titan on the most Western part of the Paldea region map.
In order to obtain Sinistea Chips, you must catch or beat wild Sinistea; it usually drops one or two Sinistea Chips per battle. However, keep in mind that they have a very low spawn rate, even if you can spot them just outside of Zapapico. Because of that, you would want to eat the Sandwich to increase Ghost-Type encounters or head over to the South Province (Area Six) Ruins area. According to the community, the place should have more Sinistea — but you need the Jump Upgrade from Lurking Steel Titan first.
After you have collected 10 Sinistea Chips, go back to the Denim Damsel NPC and trigger the trade for the Malicious Armor. Open your Bag and use the item on your Charcadet to evolve it into Ceruledge.
Ceruledge Basic Stats
- Type: Fire/Ghost
- Ability: Flash Fire
Veteran Pokemon Trainers would already know this, but Pokemon games always had version differences; this means Malicious Armor can only be obtained by playing the Pokemon Violet version. If you only own the Scarlet version, you either need to trade for the item or Ceruledge from your friends who play the other version.
