Season of the Deep has arrived in Destiny 2, and with it comes a brand new pinnacle PvP reward for players to earn. Previously, in Season 20, it was the infamous Legendary Hand Cannon, Rose. However, with the introduction of Season 21, Rose has been retired and swapped for a new reward, the Mercurial Overreach Sniper Rifle. With that in mind, it’s time to discuss how to get the Mercurial Overreach Sniper Rifle & what the God Roll is in Destiny 2.
How To Obtain The Mercurial Overreach Sniper Rifle In Destiny 2
You’ll need to participate in competitive PvP matches to obtain the Mercurial Overreach Sniper Rifle. Specifically, you’ll need to run seven games to earn the Sniper. Thankfully, it doesn’t matter if you win or lose each game, so long as you complete it without leaving.
However, you will only be allowed to obtain one per week, similar to how Rose was. That said, you can earn up to three per week if you run seven matches across all three of your characters. After the third character, you will not be able to earn another Sniper until the next weekly reset.
This will be the only method to obtain the Mercurial Overreach Sniper Rifle for the rest of the Season. When Season of the Deep ends, we’ll likely see it replaced with a new weapon like Rose was. However, until then, we can discuss what God Roll you should look for.
Mercurial Overreach Sniper Rifle God Roll
As the pinnacle PvP reward, it’s safe to say this weapon has access to plenty of great combos of perks for PvP games. However, only two can be considered the “God Roll” for a gun like this. With that said, the God Roll you should be looking for is Snapshot and Opening Shot.
Snapshot grants the gun increased aim down sight speed, while Opening Shot gives increased range and accuracy on the first shot of the magazine. This combo is insane for PvP, as increased aim down sight speed is usually a must for top-tier Sniper Rifles, and Opening Shot goes hand in hand with Snipers in general.
Overall, this Sniper easily has the potential to be one of the strongest weapons in PvP this Season. Although, it’s hard to say whether or not this gun will replace the all-powerful Beloved Sniper Rifle. Now, it’s just a matter of waiting and seeing.
