When Destiny 2 released the Beyond Light DLC in late 2020, an abundance of armor sets and weapons were sunset from the game. This included the very popular Opulent armor from the Season of Opulence. However, in a rare chain of events, the Opulent armor has returned to the game for the first time in over a year, and only for a limited time. So today, it’s time to discuss how to obtain the Opulent armor set in Destiny 2.
How To Obtain Opulent Armor Set In Destiny 2
At the time of publishing this post, the weekend vendor, Xur, is currently selling the complete Opulent set on all classes. He is in the EDZ and sells each piece for 50 Legendary Shards and 1000 Glimmer. You will have until Tuesday, June 27th, to acquire this set before Xur leaves. Unfortunately, this is the only method of reacquiring the Opulent armor set at this time, as the activity that previously gave it is still sunset.
During the Season of Opulence, the Seasonal activity at the time, the Menagerie, rewarded players with the Opulent set. However, when the Beyond Light DLC launched, the Menagerie was removed from the game, along with the Opulent armor, aside from those who had already acquired it. Until now, Xur has brought back the armor set only a handful of times, and for the next few days, Guardians will be able to purchase it once more.
When Will The Opulent Armor Set Return?
Unfortunately, there is no indication as to when the Opulent armor will return. Xur returns with a new inventory every Friday and leaves the following weekly reset. On top of his usual slew of Legendary weapons, he also sells armor from previous Seasons that aren’t currently obtainable. Popular examples include him selling the Season of the Splicer armor in one week, followed by Season of the Seraph in another. Some weeks he may even sell the same armor set back-to-back. This makes it nearly impossible to determine when a specific set may return.
It’s been roughly a year since Xur last sold the Opulent armor set. Based on that information, it’s safe to say this armor won’t be coming back anytime soon. Presumably, it will be another year or even more, depending on what happens with The Final Shape DLC next year. With that in mind, players should immediately head to Xur before he leaves this coming Tuesday.
