Depending on your personal definition, “pets” in Genshin Impact could mean one of three things. Some Travelers might consider the animals they purchase from Chubby to place in their Serenitea Pot as pets. Similarly, others might think that the wildlife they catch using their Omni-Ubiquity Net should also be regarded as pets. On the other hand, there are Gadget pets, entities that will physically and visibly follow your character around in a Paimon-like fashion. Unless you are in combat, these sentient Gadgets will keep you company as you explore the world.

After “A Teapot to Call Home,” dogs, cats, and other domestic animals can be purchased from the Teapot Traveling Salesman with Realm Currency. Likewise, the Omni-Ubiquity Net can be freely used to capture wildlife for your Serenitea Pot after completing the “Omni-Ubiquity Net” World Quest. However, getting Gadget pets in Genshin Impact is much more complicated, as they typically are rewards tied to limited-time activities.

More specifically, the multiple Mini Seelie pets in Genshin Impact are primarily acquired from Lost Riches, a recurring event that usually occurs after the release of a major update. For instance, Travelers were able to experience the last Lost Riches after the introduction of Sumeru in Update 3.0. If the developers are consistent with these updates, we should expect another Mini Seelie event during the release of Fontaine in 4.0.

Unfortunately, there are Gadget pets in Genshin Impact that are no longer available, such as Shiki Koshou and Endora. Shiki Koshou is an origami-like entity that players could unlock during 2.2’s Labyrinth Warriors event. Endora is also an exclusive reward to the Wishful Drops event back in 2021. Another example is the recent Cloud Retainer’s Damasked Device featured during the Of Travels and Treasures: A Thank-You Gift Event of 3.1.

However, there is one particular Gadget pet that is not tied to a limited-time activity. Nevertheless, it involves completing a long and effortful questline that will likely take several hours to complete. After completing the “Golden Slumber” World Quest series in Sumeru, you will gain access to a new questline called “The Dirge of Bilqis.” During the questline’s second part, “The Temple Where Sand Flows Like Tears,” you will receive Jinni in the Magic Bottle — Liloupar. This Gadget Pet is used to explore the Desert of Hadramaveth and can be acquired as long the mentioned prerequisites have been met.

Genshin Impact is available on PC, Android, iOS, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5.
