What is Primal Energy in Pokemon GO?

Primal Energy or Primal Reversion is a new Phenomenon powered by natural Energy. It transforms selected Pokemon, Groudon, and Kyogre, with performance, appearance, and battle improvements. Once Primal Energy is activated, Groudon and Kyogre will stay in their Primal form for eight hours. You can experience this Energy for the first time during Pokémon GO Tour: Hoenn – Las Vegas. Players can have the following benefits when you include Primal Groudon and Primal Kyogre in your party.

Water-, Electric-, and Bug-type attacks will get attack bonuses when Primal Groudon is in your party.
Fire-, Grass-, and Ground-type attacks will get attack bonuses when Primal Kyogre is in your party.
When Groudon and Kyogre have the primary ability more often, they will level up in their Primal forms with more bonus improvements.
If you make Primal Kyogre your buddy pokemon, you will gain more XP and Candies by catching Water-, Electric-, and Bug-type Pokémon.
If you make Primal Groudon your buddy pokemon, you will gain more XP and Candies by catching fire-, Grass-, and Ground-type Pokémon.

How to Get Primal Energy in Pokemon GO?

You can get Primal Energy in Pokemon GO by defeating Primal Groudon and Primal Kyogre in Raid Battles or completing the research tasks. Primary Raids are similar to Mega Raids but are classified differently to Five star Raid Battles.

Defeating Primal Groudon and Primal Kyogre in Raid Battles: After defeating a Primal Groudon or Kyogre in Raid Battles, you will be rewarded with some Primal Energy. This is the best method you can use to get primal energy.
Completing Research Tasks: You can get Primal Energy by completing Field Research and Special Research tasks.
