Where to Get Puffshrooms in Tears of the Kingdom
(Updated on October 2, 2024 – updated links and format)
Puffshrooms grow nearby trees in the Depths. Just jump down a Chasm to access the Depths, and you’ll land underground.
It’s not easy to spot anything down here — let alone a brown mushroom like a Puffshroom — so do yourself a favor and activate as many Lightroots as you can. That way, the immediate area before you will be illuminated, and a portion of the map will also be unlocked.
Now that the lights are on, you can roam around the Depths looking for trees and snatching Tears of the Kingdom’s Puffshrooms that grow near them.

If you don’t like farming Lightroots, why not grab the Miner’s Outfit? With this complete set, Link will acquire a permanent glow effect, and you can explore the Depths much more comfortably. The best part is it’s completely free. You just have to look for three chests within the Depths mines.
How to Use Puffshrooms in Tears of the Kingdom
We’d be lying if we said we haven’t fled from any battle in this game. Simply running away usually does the trick. But, at times, your stamina bar depletes before this enemy stops chasing you, and they catch up with you. A quick way to leave enemies stunned as you head out is to throw a Puffshroom at them. Press the up arrow button to access your inventory quickly, select the Puffshroom, and throw it toward an enemy. Or, you could also fuse it with an arrow.
Even if you don’t like to flee from battle, you can use Tears of the Kingdom’s Puffshrooms strategically to stun your enemies. Then, while they eat all that smoke, you can sneak behind their backs and kill them with one swing of your melee weapon.
