This article is over 2 years old and may contain outdated information.

Quartz, like most other resources and crafting materials in Nightingale, is a rather useful one and can aid in your survival quite a bit. However, getting your hands on some Quartz without having to run around and search desperately for altars that contain it is tiring and honestly pretty daunting. Quartz can be used for various things, but early on, the most important thing you’ll use it for is Glass. Let’s look at how to get our hands on some Raw Quartz in Nightingale.

Quarts can be found in just about any rocky area that features larger ore deposits, like those of Tin. Finding them is quite easy, but mining them is a bit more difficult. You can’t just simply run out there on your first day in the Fae Wilds and begin picking away at a Quartz deposit. You’ll need a Pickaxe with at least 10 Gear Power. The first pickaxe you craft will be much lower than this, so you won’t be able to use it unless you’re going for some Stone Blocks, which can be mined from smaller boulders.

In order to craft a better Pickaxe, you’ll need to have the Simple Workbench built and available for work. To do this, you’ll need:

  • Simple Workbench
    • 10x Wood Bundle
    • 4x Plant Fibre

Once it’s done, you can craft the Simple Mining Pick using:

  • Simple Mining Pick
    • 1x Stone Block
    • 1x Wood Bundle
    • 2x Straps

Keep in mind that Straps can be crafted at the Tannery using Animal Hide. Once you’ve got your Simple Mining Pick crafted, you’ll have enough Mining Power to break Quartz deposits and pick up some Raw Quartz.

Jordan is an experienced fantasy writer who spends hours behind her laptop, and lost in the pages of a book. She strives to be a successful gaming blogger, and has no complaint about the hours of game time she used to increase her knowledge of all things “geek”. She primarily writes gaming articles and fantasy novels. Ark: Survival Evolved is a favorite, along with Diablo 3, Warframe and Minecraft lately, though you can’t forget the good old Magic the Gathering card game! Writing about games truly gives her joy as it gives her another perspective to look at games from, a reason to really look into the mechanics of the game.
