This article is over 2 years old and may contain outdated information.

While Remnant 2 offers players many items and reward options based on their choices, some things are not that important. As a unique quest item, the Rod of Retribution is a weapon capable of killing Nimue. But unfortunately, it has almost no value for the player as a personal weapon. The only way to obtain the Rod of Retribution in Remnant 2 is to swear loyalty to the One True King. But there are several nuances that you should know to avoid mistakes.

Where To Find Rod of Retribution in Remnant 2

First, as we said earlier, the only way to get Rod of Retribution in Remnant 2 is from One True King personally. To do this, you only need to advance through the storyline of The Awakened King DLC and reach the Chamber of the Faithless, where you will meet the king of the fairies. Talk to him and swear loyalty, after which One True King will give you the Rod of Retribution and ask you to kill Nimue.

This item has no damage and does not have any additional effects. The only use for this dagger is for killing Nimue in one of the Chamber of the Faithless towers. But this decision has several possible consequences.

If you use the Rod of Retribution and kill Nimue, you will receive a Broken Heart Relic. This item will be a great way to restore your health, but you can go a different route. In addition, the death of Nimue will cause paranoia in the head of the ancient ruler of the fairies, which means you cannot avoid fighting him regardless of whether you swear loyalty to him or not.

How To Use Rod of Retribution in Remnant 2

You can immediately come into direct conflict with the One True King without swearing loyalty to him. In this case, you will not receive the Rod of Retribution and will only lose one of the following rewards depending on subsequent decisions:

  • Kill Nimue. You will receive a Broken Heart Relic by searching her corpse.
  • Accept One True King’s order, but change your mind after talking to Nimue. You will receive Nimue’s Vow, which will turn into Nimue’s Blood-Marred Vow after killing the king. Take it to Nimue, after which she will reward you with a Gift Of The Unbound Amulet.

To summarize, we will only add that Rod of Retribution is an optional quest item that opens only one of the storylines. And what’s most attractive is that this small plot link will allow you to receive valuable rewards, regardless of whose side you take.
