Whether you’re fishing for Eddy or completing Neppy’s “A Watery Wonder” quest in Fae Farm, you’ll need Sardines to progress your playthrough. This speedy Saltwater Fish is of “rare” rarity, meaning it possesses a rainbow glow, similar to Herring or Rockfish. Conversely, common Fish, such as Salmon or River Cod, do not have any special particle effects around their body. Regardless, these visuals don’t exactly help players recognize where Sardines can be found to complete their related quests in Fae Farm.
Where To Find the Fae Farm Sardine Location
As one might expect of a Saltwater Fish, the Sardine can be found in the ocean waters of Fae Farm. This species of Fish appears offshore in any weather, all year round, meaning there’s no limitation on when you can encounter one. The three Fae Farm locations you should visit to get Sardines are Stay-A-While Bay, the Docks, and the Beach.
As noted above, Sardines in Fae Farm are rare, so you might need to visit the ocean several times or wait a day before you find one. In our case, we were always able to encounter at least one Sardine swimming in the sea at the Docks or Beach. However, we might have just been lucky, which isn’t typical for other players. Whatever the case, this Fish will naturally not spawn anywhere besides the ocean, such as the rivers or mountain springs up north.
How to Catch a Sardine in Fae Farm
Catching Sardines is no different from reeling in a Blue Catfish or Tiny Tealfish. As a rare-type Fish, this aquatic creature will swim in a circle at a swift pace, making it slightly more challenging to position your bobber in its path. Nevertheless, once you’ve caught its attention, reel it in by holding or tapping the corresponding input, depending on if you toggled Simple Fishing in the Gameplay Settings.
If you’re struggling to catch Sardines or other rare Fish, consider upgrading your fishing rod by speaking with Eddy. If you fish up common Fish on the daily, you’ll receive lots of XP to level your Fishing Skill. Every level will give you bonuses that will make fishing noticeably easier.
