Wild Hearts features some impressive monsters to track down. As they get tougher, however, so must your hunter. The only way to do this is to gather materials for upgrading your armor and weapons. Sharp Scale is one of those materials. With our help, you can track down enough Sharp Scale in Wild Hearts for some of your earlier upgrades.

Detailed Map View of Small Kemono

Sharp Scale is not exactly top-tier when it comes to resources. However, it is a resource that can certainly get the job done when you need an edge in battle. Sharp Scales will drop from the smaller Kemono creatures you can battle. More specifically, they will drop from these two:

  • Nightshade Monitor
  • Shardshower Monitor

Before you can get Sharp Scale in Wild Hearts, you must reach Chapter 3 in the Main Story. Once you are there, this resource will begin dropping from the above creatures.

Sharp Scale is known as a Forging Material, so you can use them for a variety of weapon crafting and upgrade projects.

To find Nightshade Monitor for Sharp Scale in Wild Hearts, their normal habitat is the Akikure Canyon. They are invasive to Harugasumi Way, so check there as well.

Now, for Shardshower Monitor, check their normal habitat of Fuyufusagi Fort. Additionally, you want to keep an eye out for their invasive habitat area of Natsukodachi Isle.

If you find yourself having any difficulty tracking them down for their Sharp Scale, then you want to use your Detailed Map View. When you bring this up while looking at the world, use the filter at the lower left corner of the map. You want to filter for Small Kemono as sometimes it is randomized as to where they spawn in those habitats. If you hover over the circular icons, you can tell the exact creature.

Now, to find as much Sharp Scale as you need in Wild Hearts, you will more than likely revisit those habitats. This is because you will want to reset their spawn so you can keep battling and farming for this crafting and upgrade resource.

Wild Hearts is available on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S.
