Season of the Deep is finally live in Destiny 2, and with it comes the return of the infamous Reckoning weapons. Reckoning weapons were once featured during the Season of the Drifter, and the most popular among them was, without a doubt, the Spare Rations Hand Cannon. Now, after four years of being sunset, Spare Rations has returned as an earnable reward for completing Season of the Deep activities. So today, it’s time to discuss how to get the Spare Rations Hand Cannon & what the God Roll for it is in Destiny 2.
How To Obtain The Spare Rations Hand Cannon In Destiny 2
For the short and sweet answer, the Spare Rations Hand Cannon can only be obtained by completing Season of the Deep activities such as Salvage or Deep Dive to obtain Season of the Deep Engrams. These activities will drop the regular Deep Dive Taken weapons, not the Reckoning guns. However, with your newly acquired Season of the Deep Engrams, you can make your way back to the helm to focus them on a Reckoning weapon like Spare Rations.
It will cost two Deep Engrams to focus for a Reckoning gun, and then it’s up to a little RNG to decide whether Spare Rations will drop for you. However, once you do obtain it, you can specifically focus on the gun by spending four Deep Engrams searching for a better roll. It’s time to discuss the God Roll you should be searching for.
Spare Rations Hand Cannon God Roll
Spare Rations was famous for its absolute dominance in PvP, and with its newly updated perks, it’s safe to say it will return to power once again. The God Roll you should be looking for is Slideshot and Opening Shot.
Slideshot will partially reload the gun from reserves and temporarily boost its range and stability. On the other hand, Opening Shot grants increased accuracy and range on the first shot of the magazine. This perk combo is insane for a 140 Hand Cannon, as with its incredible range stat, this weapon can easily compete with the likes of Pulse Rifles and other guns from farther distances.
Overall, Spare Rations was once the king of The Crucible during its time before it was sunset with the release of the Beyond Light DLC. With its return to an already powerful Hand Cannon meta, it’s safe to say this gun will quickly rise the ranks and reclaim its throne as the best PvP weapon in the game.
