Trash and treasures

You won’t find any Lalafell in this MMORPG, just scrap metal, guns, and monsters. Nowhere does Once Human channel Rust as much as it does during scrap collection. The Meta-Human world is littered with trash, and while much of this junk is worthless, there’s treasure to be found, too. You’ll need to disassemble the scrap you find, but the Special and Refined Parts are worth it, as many mid- to late-game crafting projects require them. Get ready for some Oscar the Grouch cosplay, because we’re going dumpster diving. Here’s how to get Special and Refined Parts in Once Human.

Most resources necessary for upgrading your gear and base are just lying around in crates and loot caches. The same can’t be said for Special and Refined Parts in Once Human, however. You get these materials by disassembling junk from the Iron River region. Refinery Pollution Point (coordinates 5249, -3727, west of Riverhart Harbor and south of Greywater Camp) is a great place to start. It’s recommended for Level 23+ players, but you can easily solo minor mobs in the area at a lower level and run from the rest. Here’s what to do:

  1. Travel to Refinery Pollution Point
  2. Search in and around the industrial buildings
  3. Check shelves as well as trash piles and other random loot spawns
  4. Disassemble specific trash items

Car trunks are another decent source, though not as reliable. So which scrap items are you searching for? There’s a decent list, and disassembling any of them will yield Refined Parts. Here are the items you’ll need:

  • Cameras
  • Filters
  • Riot Shields
  • Scrap Fine Barrel
  • Scrap Fine Body
  • Scrap Fine Stock
  • Smart Stereo units

You can find these items in other Iron River areas beyond Pollution Point, but the Refinery is an easy farm and worthwhile starting place. Once you’ve gotten your fill of Refined Parts you’ll be ready to stretch your Meta-Human wings elsewhere.

The process for getting Special Parts in Once Human is the same. The difference is where you’ll find the scrap you need. The junk you’ll need to disassemble can only be found in dangerous areas, beginning with Chalk Peak. You’ll find this Level 32+ zone west of Iron River. Begin your search in Holt Town and residential areas, expanding into Furnace Lair and the nearby Securement Silos if necessary. Here’s a partial list of the junk you’ll need:

  • Coffee makers
  • CPUs
  • Scrap Sniper Rifle Body
  • Scrap SMG Body
  • Welding Machines

Once you’ve grabbed the junk you need, return to your base and use your Disassembly Bench to break it down into the parts you require. With a base full of solar panels and turrets, you’ll be ready to start reclaiming the world, assuming nothing eats you first.
