Spicy Peppers are among the most important items to farm in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom. Players can use it to make a number of cold resistance food items. This is really important because a few regions in the game have a freezing cold climate, making them impossible to explore without help. The open-world gameplay and realism in the game make exploring areas like Gutanbac a difficult venture. Here’s a guide to help you find and use Spicy Peppers in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom.

You will notice withstanding the cold is another challenge in the game when exploring the cold regions. The starting parts of the Great Sky Island leading up to Gutanbac Shrine with snow and ice mountains will make Link shiver. The cold temperatures will slowly deplete the health bar of the protagonist. The only way out is to cook specific spicy recipes to get resistance to the cold. There are two ways to get Spicy Peppers in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom.

Once you are around the colder regions like Gutanbac Shrine, Hebra or Gerudo, you will find the pepper scattered around the areas. Be sure to watch for these while looking around the cold areas. If you miss out on the Spicy Pepper, you can run into a shortage of heat inducing food later on in the game. Fortunately, there is another reliable way of getting the peppers.

Farming the Peppers

  • You will come across Robbie in the early phases of the game. He will provide you with the Purah Pad and Sensor+ Upgrades. You will get the Purah Pad at the Hyrule Field Chasm. However, you will only get the Sensor+ Upgrade for the Pad by snapping photos of five unique creatures.
  • By having the enhanced Purah Pad, you will be able to find a Spicy Pepper location when you’re out and about.
  • Find Spicy Peppers when exploring or drop one from the inventory.
  • Zoom in on the pepper with your camera. Wait for the camera to identify and display its name on your screen.
  • Take a picture of the pepper. It will add it to your Compendium.
  • Open the world map and then go to the Compendium.
  • Browse through and select Spicy Pepper, making it your active Sensor target.
  • Now, as you explore, the sensor will guide you to other Spicy Peppers with the help of the radar and a beeping mechanism.

Once you have gathered the Spicy Peppers, you can cook a few recipes in a pot to get you through the cold climate. Dishes like Spicy Sauteed Peppers and Spicy Peppered Steak can help ward off the cold and give you a good amount of warmth over a longer period.

The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom is playable on Nintendo Switch.
