Trying to get the Climbing Boots in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom? Like the Tunic of Awakening, the Climbing Boots is just one item of clothing that belongs to a three-piece set. More importantly, it is considered one of the most useful finds in the RPG, as the boots allow Link to climb faster and save stamina. That said, players will need to discover and explore a well-hidden cave in order to obtain them. Here is how you can get the Climbing Boots and what they do in Tears of the Kingdom.

To get the Climbing Boots in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, you must travel over to the Upland Zorana Byroad cave within the Lanayru region. Luckily, it shouldn’t be too far of a walk, as it rests directly south of the region’s Upland Zorana Skyview Tower. As marked above, the cave’s entrance sits at the bottom of Veiled Falls’ mountain, just west of Zora’s Domain.

Once inside, you can work your way toward the boots by swimming and climbing to the tunnel entrance on the right side of the room. However, there will be a Like Like enemy awaiting you from above, but using Recall on its rock attacks can easily exterminate the worm-like creature. From there, Link can drop down the cliff ahead to enter a water-filled den. As shown below, your next step will be to drain the water by moving the door at the end of the den with Ultrahand.

After that is done, you can make your way behind the staircase in the back-right corner of the room. This path will lead to the chest that holds the Climbing Boots, and you can use the Ascend ability directly after to leave the cave. Although, we recommend heading back into the previous room once again, as there should now be plenty of Topazes and arrows to collect as well.

While some gear is purely cosmetic, you can get Climbing Boots to increase Link’s climbing speed instantly. However, it is best to obtain the entirety of the Climbing Gear set, as wearing all three will give Link the fastest climbing ability possible. Although the boots come with an underwhelming 3 Defense, it is also possible to boost this stat immensely. Upon reaching Great Fairy Fountains, Link can trade in a range of basic materials to upgrade the Climbing Boots’ level, ultimately letting them sport a maximum of 20 Defense.

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is available on Nintendo Switch.
