Besides adding new regions to explore, Genshin Impact version 4.0 adds another free sword that players can get for free called Fleuve Cendre Ferryman. Like the iconic Catch polearm, you have to gather a bunch of rare fishes that you can only get via the fishing mini-game. This new sword is a great weapon for many sub-DPS units since it boosts Energy Recharge and Skill damage. You need to catch some tricky fish though so be prepared to spend time staring at water.
Genshin Impact: Fleuve Cendre Ferryman Sword Guide

You can obtain the Fleuve Cendre Ferryman sword in Genshin Impact by speaking to an angler named Delaroche. You can find her fishing on the lake northeast of the Court of Fontaine. If you have unlocked the map of this area, you can use the Fontaine Fishing Association logo to help you reach this NPC.
Unlike regular shops that accept Mora, you can only obtain items in her shop by giving her special fish. Here are the items that she sells besides the Fleuve Cendre Ferryman sword:
- Martens’ Omni-fix Refinement Material
- Fishing Line Stabilizer
- Wavepiercer Fishing Rod
- Formula: Sour Bait
- Formula: Flashing Maintenance Mek Bait
I highly recommend buying the Wavepiercer Fishing Rod and the Sour Bait formula since you need those two to capture Fontaine fish. To buy the Fleuve Cendre Ferryman sword, you need to bring these fish to Delaroche:
- Maintenance Mek: Platinum Collection x4
- Streaming Axe Marlin x12
- Rippling Heartfeather Bass x10
- Blazing Heartfeather Bass x10
Once you have the sword, you need to purchase Martens’ Omni-fix to increase the weapon’s Refinement Level:
- Maintenance Mek – Platinum Collection x2
- Streaming Axe Marlin x5
- Rippling Heartfeather Bass x5
- Blazing Heartfeather Bass x5
The Best Fishing Spots To Get Fleuve Cendre Ferryman
There are four types of fish that you have to capture to get the Fleuve Cendre Ferryman. All of them can be found within the Fontaine region.
Maintenance Mek: Platinum Collection
You can get Maintenance Mek: Platinum Collection can only be found in one location. Just head southwest from Poisson and you can capture this fish between 6 PM to 6 AM. You will also need the Flashing Maintenance Mek Bait, which you can obtain for three Medaka.
Streaming Axe Marlin
The second fish you need to get to buy Fleuve Cendre Ferryman is Streaming Axe Marlin. Unlike Maintenance Mek: Platinum Collection, this aquatic animal can be found in several fishing spots. I suggest visiting these four locations near the Court of Fontaine. You must use the Sugardew Bait from the Sumeru Fishing Association.
Rippling Heartfeather Bass
The third fish is the Rippling Heartfeather Bass, and you can find it in many fishing spots in Fontaine. This fish only accepts Sour Bait, but you can capture it during all hours.
Blazing Heartfeather Bass
The last fish you have to catch to get Fleuve Cendre Ferryman is the Blazing Heartfeather Bass. It’s another common fish that you can find in several spots, but ensure you have some Sour Bait in your inventory.
