If you know where to look, Assassin’s Creed Mirage is full of little nods and references to earlier AC games. Outside of the obvious, like the Ezio Auditore outfit you can buy through Ubisoft Rewards, there’s also smaller references like the scarab talisman. Some might say the entire game is a reference since Basim was an important character in AC Valhalla. However, there’s one reference to a past Assassin’s Creed game that some players might miss entirely — the Hidden One Outfit. To get it, you’ll need to do a bit of breaking and entering in Al-Jahiz’s House.
Where To Find the Hidden Ones Outfit in Al-Jahiz’s House
The Hidden Ones outfit is a nod to Assassin’s Creed Origins, the series’ first jump into a more RPG-like style. Unlike Ezio’s outfits, the Hidden Ones outfit is entirely free in Assassin’s Creed Mirage so long as you know where to find the gear chest it’s in.
There are a few places to find the Hidden Ones outfit. One of them is in a gear chest in Al-Jahiz’s house in the Round City, southwest of the Palace of the Green Dome. Players who are familiar with Assassin’s Creed Mirage‘s Abbasiyah district and the House of Wisdom may remember Al-Jahiz as the kind old man who takes any Lost Books you’ve found in return for Scholar Tokens. Hopefully, he won’t be upset that we’re about to explode part of his house.
Arriving at Al-Jahiz’s house, use Enkidu or Eagle Vision to locate the gear chest on the bottom floor of the house. Unfortunately, all the doors and windows are barred, but if you climb up to the roof of the house you’ll find an explodable opening.
You’ll need to find an oil jar to get inside. Use Eagle Vision again and you’ll find one on the rooftop to the north. Jump down to where it is, but don’t pick the oil jar up just yet – you need to plan a way back up to Al-Jahiz’s house. Just past the oil jar, you’ll see two movable shelves right next to each other. Grab the one on the right and move it as far right as it can go. The shelves should look like the picture below.
With that done, go back and pick up the oil jar. Carry it back over to the shelves, then jump onto the planter box to the right of the shelves. From there, jump onto the shelf you moved, then onto the second shelf. You can safely jump onto the other rooftop from the second shelf.
Once you’ve landed on the other rooftop, turn left and go forward until you hit the balcony railing. Jump over the railing and onto the rope connecting this rooftop to the next, using it like a tightrope to get back to the home of Al-Jahiz in Assassin’s Creed Mirage.
After you’re back where you started from, all that’s left to do is use the oil jar on the explodable part of the roof. Either throw the jar onto it or set it down and use a throwing knife, but whatever method you use, drop down into the brand-new hole in the roof. Inside Al-Jahiz’s house, go downstairs to find the gear chest.
Open the chest to get the Hidden Ones outfit. This outfit comes with the “Deadly Moment” perk, which means your Assassin’s Focus chunks refill 5% faster with every stealth kill you perform. Aesthetically speaking, this outfit bears some resemblance to Bayek’s default outfit from Assassin’s Creed Origins, especially with the rough-hewn hood and Egyptian-style collar reminiscent of the one from the 2016 game.
