How To Get the Oppressor Mount in FFXIV Dawntrail

Alexander raid flasbacks

If you thought the days of facing Alexander were in the past, that wasn’t the case. However, instead of fighting this iconic foe from FFXIV, you can get the Oppressor Identification Key to summon one of the Alexander raid foes as a mount. To obtain it, you’ll have to do some of the newest PvP content in the game and progress through the battle pass-like feature, which shouldn’t take too long, assuming you have a good team and enough patience to join the Crystalline Conflict.

The Oppressor Identification Key and, therefore, the mount is locked behind FFXIV’s PvP battle pass, also known as PvP Series. Like in previous seasons, reaching level 25 on the current Series unlocks a mount; this time, everyone will get the Oppressor. Farming the first few levels of this battle-pass-like system isn’t hard. However, after level 20, grinding can become a bit more challenging. Still, we have a dedicated guide on how to farm the series and all the Trophy Crystals. Personally, I recommend sticking to Crystalline Conflict and swapping to Frontline Roulette when needed. Still, if you queue for casual Crystalline Conflict matches, you should be good.

Usually, most FFXIV PvP Series last for one full patch, which means you have enough time to get the Oppressor Identification Key and unlock the mount. Still, don’t get too confident. The grind to level 25 takes a while, so if you have the time to spare and aren’t planning on doing the new MSQ yet, do a few Crystalline Conflict rounds. Furthermore, doing PvP activities is also a great way to level up. While it isn’t as effective as Roulettes or Bozja, you can still earn many experience points quickly, so see it as taking out two birds with one stone.
