The Rope Dart might not be a new tool in Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced, but it is obtainable faster, which is something many had been complaining about since the original game launched. Contrary to its original counterpart, this handy tool can now perform better combos while still being extremely useful for some quiet assassinations and distractions. If you want to know just how early you can obtain it, here’s a guide for it, so you can add the Rope Dart to your arsenal quickly.
When Do You Get the Rope Dart in Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced?
Instead of getting it during Sequence 11 like in the original game, you get the Rope Dart during Sequence 3 in Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced, more specifically, during the mission “Sugarcane and Its Yields,” which is also the tutorial for how to unlock warehouses on the map.
Now, in terms of functionality, it plays pretty much like the one in the original game. You can use it to perform silent assassinations from trees or beams (those inside boats also work). However, you can now also use it to perform combos and pull enemies toward you. By default, it will be set to the R2+Circle button combination, and pressing that during combat will pull enemies toward you. This will allow you to throw them off balance and let you get a few hits in. You can even interrupt some enemies by using this move. Still, there are a few foes who might counter it, so be careful with that.
Lastly, using your Rope Dart won’t consume ammunition like in the original game. As long as you have it unlocked, you can use it as many times as you want, both in combat and in stealth situations.
As a general tip, try to use the Rope Dart to take out enemies silently, but only when there’s one alone. Using it next to another foe will reveal you, so use it more as a way to lure more enemies your way. In combat, we recommend using it against ranged enemies, as you can interrupt their attacks. Also, don’t forget that you can also combo it after a normal attack, so make sure to do that, especially when facing heavy enemies.
