While the original helm of the Witch Queen in Destiny 2 is an intimidating piece of armor, Bungie has transformed this harrowing headpiece into the comical-looking Savathun Mask in celebration of Halloween and the return of the Festival of the Lost for 2022. During this 3-week event, Guardians can complete different activities and challenges to earn a wide variety of cosmetic rewards, such as the Blueberry Mask, Telesto Mask, Bread Mask, Caiatl Mask, Riven Mask, and Savathun Mask. These masks do not appear as their name might indicate but instead are whimsical cardboard cutout replicas of their actual forms, with Blueberry and Bread being just downright humorous.
Unlocking the Savathun Mask in Destiny 2
To unlock the Savathun Mask Helmet in Destiny 2, Guardians must participate in the challenges featured during the Festival of the Lost 2022. More specifically, players must complete “Happy Haunting Ground,” an event activity that involves doing a total of 35 activities in the Haunted Sector Playlist.

According to Attack of the Fanboy, players can enter the Haunted Sector by interacting with the glowing fire to the right of Eva Levante, the Guardian Outfitter vendor in the Tower. Players can also view the POI’s location on the map by choosing the Haunted Sector Playlist. Unlike Raids or other challenging activities, completing Haunted Sectors in Destiny 2 is a relatively easy task. All Guardians must do is stand in ritual circles while fighting off Headless Ones and defeating a single boss at the end of the instance. Clearing a sector will net players lots of Candy to purchase items exclusive to the Festival of the Lost in 2022.
After Destiny 2 players clear the Haunted Sector Playlist 35 times, they will unlock the Savathun Mask as a reward for their efforts. Based on gameplay by YouTube content creator Esoterickk, one Haunted Sector run will take roughly 9 minutes. However, this time might vary depending on the number of party members or loadout choices. Nevertheless, suppose the average clear time is 9 minutes. In that case, it will take roughly 5 hours to unlock the Savathun Mask, which is not terribly long considering that the reward is guaranteed, unlike random drops from Raids.
Destiny 2 is available for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.
