This article is over 2 years old and may contain outdated information.

Although Alan Wake 2 offers an exciting and somewhat confusing plot, stashes and hiding places are also an integral part of the game. Of course, to open the most valuable rewards like weapons, you will need unique keys, passwords, or codes, but don’t forget about the Screwdriver. With this simple tool, you can pick any padlock, which has probably become an insurmountable obstacle in Coffee World. The good news is that Screwdriver is on one of the attractions near the locked Gift Shop, and we will tell you how to find it in Alan Wake 2.

First of all, it is worth noting that you can not find the Screwdriver until you reach the Watery area and visit Coffee World as a story stage. You have probably seen padlocks before, but you must skip them until you get to this location. On the other hand, once you reach the Gift Shop with a padlock hanging on the door, you will learn that Screwdriver can become the key. At this stage, you cannot go any further without receiving this tool, and you will have to find it.

This attraction in question, also known as the Percolator, is a rotating attraction with bowls for visitors to sit on. You can find it on the river bank if you follow the path through the amusement park. When you reach the water, step over the two pallets and climb onto the Percolator. Get to the control panel and pick up the treasured tool.

It is worth warning that you will meet several Taken along the way, one of which is in the center of the Percolator. You can run past enemies and quickly grab the Screwdriver, but we recommend killing them as this can make it more difficult to exit the attraction.

However, having acquired the Screwdriver, you can return to the padlock and continue the story part of the game. Rest assured, you can use this tool again during the game to open hiding places and lock doors. But it is worth noting that you are unlikely to find something valuable. The rarest rewards are hidden behind separate puzzles or have a unique key. Those cases that you open using Screwdriver will often reward you with something like consumables or ammo.

To summarize, here is how you can get the Screwdriver in Alan Wake 2:

  1. Get to the Watery area.

  2. Visit Coffee World.

  3. Find the Percolator attraction.

  4. Take the tool.
