The Wyvern Ignition Great Sword in MHW is one of the best raw weapons you can get your hands on in the game. It’s not just powerful, but it looks pretty cool as well, with a jet turbine sticking out of its back and all. Wielding such a unique weapon is definitely one incentive to make and try out Monster Hunter‘s most iconic weapon type. To craft the jet-powered sword in MHW, you will need to complete an Event Quest and get the Master Craftsman’s Blueprint item first, though.

This distinctive Great Sword is actually one of the fan-designed weapon contest winners. The idea behind why a jet engine exists in the somewhat-tribal world of Monster Hunter is a reference to the Elder Dragon Valstrax. Appears in Monster Hunter Generations and Rise, the Elder Dragon’s wing is equipped with jet-like holes that spew out dragon energy. In MHW itself, The Wyvern Ignition Great Sword can be crafted using the following materials:

  • Dragonite Ore x7
  • Paolumu Webbing x2
  • Rathalos Marrow x2
  • Master Craftsman’s Blueprint x2

While the three others are common materials in MHW, the Master Craftsman’s Blueprint can only be acquired from the “★5 Every Hunter’s Dream” Event Quest. Afterward, Wyvern Ignition can be upgraded to Rarity 7, making it one of the best raw Great Swords in MHW High Rank.

For the MHW Master Rank version, instead of another Master Craftsman’s, you will need Black Eagle Blueprint. The Master Rank item is obtained from the “MR★3 Every Hunter’s Dream” Event Quest. Aside from the Event material, you have to collect Seething Bazelgeuse’s drops to upgrade the Wyvern Ignition to Rarity 12 in MHW.

Below is the list of the materials and how much money you need to make all three tiers of the Wyvern Ignition MHW Great Sword.
