TM 012 is a Technical Machine in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet that can be crafted into the Fighting-type Physical Move, Low Kick. This Move deals damage in correlation to the target’s weight. In other words, if the opponent struck by Low Kick is a heavyweight pocket monster such as Tyranitar, then the Power of the Move will be higher. Likewise, using this Fighting-type Physical Move on a smaller creature like Happiny will be much less effective. As a result, Low Kick is a significantly situational Move but can be deadly if used against the right opponents in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet.
Finding and Crafting the Low Kick in Scarlet & Violet
To craft Low Kick and teach it to one’s pocket monsters in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, Trainers must first find the location of TM 012. Newcomers do not need to wait too long before they can get this TM, as its Poké Ball node can be found on the lower cliff directly west of the South Province (Area Two) Pokécenter.

The shelf near South Province (Area Two) Pokécenter is not the only location where players can find the Low Kick TM 012 in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet. According to YouTuber GameplayArchive, Trainers can find another copy of TM 012 near the city of Medali in Area Three of the West Province. Starting from the Medali (West) Pokécenter, players must travel southwestward across the grassy meadow. After passing by Sheila the Musician, continue southwest until reaching a tree near a cliff wall. Picking up the Poké Ball item node under the tree will grant Trainers any copy of Low Kick. Remember that only one copy is required to unlock the TM’s recipe.
