Undying Embers are one of the many premium gacha currencies of Honkai: Star Rail used in the Store. Similar to Genshin Impact, such currencies can be overwhelming for new players, especially those less familiar with the gacha banner landscape. Fortunately, the name of Undying Embers is as complex as things get. The actual utility of this currency and its source are what should be focused on. This resource is used in the Embers Exchange, a section of the Store selling a variety of upgrade materials, currencies, and even Star Rail Passes.
How to Farm Honkai Star Rail Undying Embers
If you check the in-game description of Undying Embers in Honkai: Star Rail, you’ll see its primary source — Warp. Warp banners are identical an identical feature to Wishes in Genshin Impact. Whenever you perform a Warp for Light Cones or characters, you’ll receive Undying Embers. In other words, Undying Embers is the surplus currency you receive from participating in the game’s gacha.

How to Use Undying Embers in Honkai Star Rail
You’ll accumulate more Undying Embers as you spend more Star Rail Passes and Special Passes to fill your roster and Light Cone collection. Once you have a hefty amount, you can take your earnings to the Embers Exchange in Honkai Star: Rail. We strongly recommend you prioritize spending your Undying Embers on the Stair Rail Passes in Honkai Star Rail. After all, unlocking new characters and Light Cones is what will help you get through the challenging portions of your journey. Afterward, the second crucial resource in the Embers Exchange will be Credits, as you’ll need money for everything you do. Whether you’re leveling a unit or enhancing its Traces, Credits will be required in bulk.
Please be careful not to confuse Undying Embers with Undying Starlight. The concept of these two is similar to Genshin‘s Stardust and Starglitter. You’ll receive Undying Starlight in smaller amounts compared to Embers. This rarer, higher tier currency is used in the Starlight Exchange, where you can purchase Star Rail Passes, four-star characters, and high-end Light Cones.
