Metal Detector has finally arrived in Rust, and this new addition makes the game even easier. Now, you can search and loot anywhere with Metal Detector. The benefits of adding this item to the game are debatable, but that’s not our topic today. Now, let’s take a look at how we can craft and use the Metal Detector in Rust and what kind of items we can find.
How To Get Metal Detector in Rust
You can get Metal Detector in Rust from crates in loot zones or from scientist loot. If you find the Metal Detector and want to learn it directly using the Research Table, it requires x75 Scrap. However, you can also learn the item using Workbench Level 1, which will require a total of x190 Scrap.
When you pick up the Metal Detector in Rust and start walking around, it starts beeping, and when you hold down the right click, you can do a more specific search. When you hold down the right click, you can see the signal strength, and it will go up or down depending on the direction you’re going.
This way, you can easily pinpoint the location of the metal. When you get close enough to the target, a flag will appear on the ground, and you can hit this flag with any melee tool to reveal the loot below. Actually, you need to hit the loot on the ground with the newly added Shovel, but for now, you can achieve the same function with any melee tool.
