How to Get Weapon Mods in Destiny 2: Lightfall
This article is over 2 years old and may contain outdated information.

In Destiny 2, Mods are important parts of your weapon. Can be slotted into any Legendaries, Mods are used to boost the abilities of weapon perks, change weapon stats, and provide bonuses for Exotic weapons via Catalysts. Here is how you can get Weapon Mods to improve your space guns’ performance in Destiny 2: Lightfall.

Destiny 2: Lightfall – How to Get Weapon Mods

Since the system introduction in the base game, Guardians should be able to acquire Weapon Mods through the Banshee-44 Gunsmith Vendor in the Tower area. Its selection of Weapon Mods usually rotates each day or week and can be purchased with Glimmer. However, do keep in mind that at the time of writing, there seems to be a bug in Destiny 2: Lightfall that prevents Banshe-44 Vendor from selling Weapon Mods. The official Bungie Support account on the Support page has mentioned that the team has acknowledged the issue and is currently “investigating” it.

Other than that, you can get Engrams that reward you with Weapon Mods from increasing your Gunsmith Rank with Banshee-44. The Rank can be increased by completing various Bounties and dismantling items with the Vendor. There are also Adept Mods that can be obtained from the Trials of Osiris PvP matches and dropped from specific Nightfall Strikes and Raids.

Below is the list of some of the most popular Weapon Mods for PvP and PvE scenarios:

PvP Mods:

  • Icarus Grip: Moderately increases airborne effectiveness.
  • Freehand Grip: Increases accuracy and ready speed while firing from the hip.
  • Sprint Grip: Temporarily increases the weapon’s ready speed and aim down sights speed after sprinting.
  • Backup Mag: Increases magazine.
  • Quick Access Sling: Increases this weapon’s ready and stow speed.

PvE Mods:

  • Minor Spec: Deals extra damage against rank-and-file enemies.
  • Major Spec: Deals extra damage against powerful enemies.
  • Boss Spec: Increases damage against bosses and vehicles.
  • Backup Mag: Increases magazine.

Destiny 2 is available on PC, PlayStation, and Xbox platforms.
