Gotham Knights share some characteristics with the popular Batman: Arkham game series. If you played those games, then the combat won’t seem out of place. One thing that many players looked forward to was the gliding aspect. Getting this feature is different compared to the Arkham games, however. We’ll guide you through what to do to unlock your ability to glide in Gotham Knights.

How to Unlock the Glide Ability in Gotham Knights

Gotham Knights Unlock Glide Ability

As we mentioned, gliding is not given to you, but it’s something you must unlock. Not all fans enjoy this as it initially only allows travel via grappling hook or the Batcycle.

To glide in Gotham Knights, you must complete the Knighthood Challenges. You have to do this for all four heroes to unlock their gliders. So, this can definitely take some time to complete if you want everyone to gain the gliding ability. But the good thing is that the Knighthood Challenges are the same for everyone, so you won’t be surprised.

The Knighthood Challenges are listed below:

  • Timed Strike Training
  • One Step Ahead: Stop 10 Premeditated Crimes
  • Against All Odds: Defeat 3 Enforcers

Timed Strike Training is perhaps the easiest and quickest step to unlock the glide ability in Gotham Knights. Plus, it helps in combat throughout the game, so it’s handy to do early on.

Next, One Step Ahead can take some time as you need to find those crimes.

However, the longest might actually be Against All Odds. This is because Enforcers show up randomly. You can take them down well enough when they do, but you don’t know if they’ll actually arrive. They do pop up in the story missions often, though, so that’s a good place to get the challenge done.

When you finish all those, there’s one last thing to do before you can glide in Gotham Knights. With the character you used to complete the challenges, go to the Belfry and check out Batman’s cowl. A cutscene will take place as the character examines Batman’s suit and checks for how they can upgrade their suit.

Once this is completed, you will officially unlock the gliding ability in Gotham Knights.

How to Glide in Gotham Knights

With the ability unlocked, it’s time to put gliding to good use in the game. To glide, press the following based on your platform:

  • PlayStation 5: RT
  • Xbox Series X|S: R2

Also, you can nosedive while gliding by pressing Circle on PS5 and B on Xbox.

It’s important to note that Batgirl is the only hero that will glide like Batman in Gotham Knights. So, if any former Arkham players expected something similar, Batgirl is the one to give you that. The other heroes have their own methods of gliding.

Here are each of the ways the Bat-Family will glide in Gotham Knights:

  • Batgirl: Cape Glide effect.
  • Nightwing: Mechanical Glider, AKA “Flying Trapeze” effect.
  • Red Hood: Mystical Leap effect via spirit platforms.
  • Robin: Teleportation portals effect via slideways.

Robin and Red Hood especially might take some practice to get used to seeing just how different their abilities are.
