When it comes to getting around in Hyrule, the best way is still by horse. Sure, machines can fly, and you can glide on a few different stylish paragliders, but the best and most versatile way is down to four hooves. Whether you’re bringing over a horse from your own playthrough or just got your hands on a new one, understanding how the stables work in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom can help. Things are a little different from last time, so the new stable system may require a small amount of explaining. Learning how to increase horse storage in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom can make life a lot easier for you when it comes to boarding your mounts. In this article, we’ll break down everything you need to know to earn Pony Points in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom.
How to Increase Horse Storage in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom
Horse storage is now a flexible asset. Unlike Breath of the Wild, where you had a hard and fast limit, Zelda Tears of the Kingdom allows for expansion. In Zelda Tears of the Kingdom, players can lodge at any stable they want. They can rest until the next day, the following evening, or noon, as long as they have enough rupees. A Standard lodge is 20, while one in the Malanya bed is 50. If you choose to rest in the Malanya bed, you’ll temporarily be blessed with a few extra hearts and a stamina wheel. Malanya, if you don’t remember, is the legendary horse god. Staying in that bed may also grant the player a visit through dreams possessed by Malanya. During a dream with Malanya, they may bless Link with a message.
Pony Points are the new additive to the stable formula in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom. Different this time around, the stables have a Pony Point system that players can use to access special features of the stable. Once you get 7 Pony Points, you can access the Malanya bed. Keep in mind, though, that buff you get from Malanya does not permanently increase your stats. It’s just a temporary boost you can use as you wish until you deplete the extra hearts and stamina. When you first arrive at a stable, you’ll receive your Pony Points Card so that you can start saving them up and spending them. To increase horse storage in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom, you’ll have to learn how to get as many points as you can.
How to Farm Pony Points
To increase horse storage in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom, you need to start by getting some Pony Points. Going to any nearby stable should get you started; the first stable you visit will give you a Pony Points Card. To gather up Pony Points, all you need to do is use the stable naturally. This means anything can get you points. If you want to skip some time, consider lodging as often as possible at a stable. For every lodge, you’ll receive more points. If you see a horse you’d like to have, catch it. Because every time you register a horse you’ve tamed, you get some Pony Points towards your card. Unfortunately, boarding and taking out horses doesn’t count toward your points.
Once you earn pony points in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom, see the Pony Points Ledger. This ledger is responsible for giving out rewards for your point count. You can increase horse storage in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom once you have sufficient points for it. The Pony Points Ledger is located inside the stable tent, usually on a table relatively close to the entrance. Once you find it, you can either choose to spend some points or simply read the Ledger. You can use the Ledger as a way of tracking your points and determining how much activity you need before you reach the next goal. Through Pony Points, you can obtain all kinds of other useful things. Items you can gain as rewards include the Towing Harness, which can help you navigate with a wagon behind any good horse.
How To Use Stables In Zelda Tears of the Kingdom
Stables work just the same as they always have. Like in Breath of the Wild, Zelda Tears of the Kingdom has a few stables scattered across Hyrule that you can use as a beacon point for horse-catching activities. With every milestone of Pony Points, you can expand your storage, making it far easier to collect as many horses as you want. Through the expansion of the stable’s storage, you can get horses of all colors, combinations, stats, and temperaments if you so choose.
