As a hack-and-slash action RPG, the loot system is one of the most prominent gameplay elements of Diablo IV. Hordes of enemies will drop truckloads of loot during your playtime, all with different colors indicating different rarities, which will have different effects on your characters’ abilities and playstyle. Since there’s going to be a bajillion loot being dropped on your screen, it is impossible to save them all in your Inventory. But at least, is there a way to increase your Inventory space in Diablo IV and not let some of those gear go to waste?
Diablo IV – Can You Increase Inventory?
Unfortunately, similar to other Diablo games, there is no way to increase your player Inventory in Diablo IV. I know, as a virtual kleptomaniac myself, it hurts me having to leave behind dropped loots all over the dungeon floors as well. I had to resort to using mods in Diablo II just to satisfy my guilty pleasure of being a hoarder. However, although you cannot increase your Inventory in Diablo IV, you can add more space to the external Stash, which we will discuss later below.
The Best Way to Conserve Inventory Space
The best way to conserve some space and do proper Inventory management is, of course, just to let the gear be if they are not particularly good. But if they have slipped into your Inventory unnoticed, then you will want to head to the Blacksmith. Go there and dismantle them into scraps or valuable crafting materials. Other than that, you can also sell them for some Gold, which you will desperately need if you like to collect loot and/or junk like me.
Diablo IV – What is External Stash and How to Upgrade It?
As mentioned above, just like in previous Diablo titles, there is an external Stash that can be found in the Hub Towns all over in-game areas of Scosglen, Dry Steppes, Kehjista, Fractured Peaks, and Haweza. On the minimap, it will be marked by a small Chest icon, and you can put your other, less vital valuables there for safekeeping and pick them up again down the road. But, just like your character’s Inventory, the Stash is bound to be full at one point in the game, too, since it only has one tab.
Thankfully, you can add more space to the Stash. The bad news is it will cost you 100,000 Gold for each tab. Yep, it is one of the more expensive things you can only unlock using Gold, especially in the early game. I suggest you save up cash often and don’t die too often so you won’t waste too much money. At least in the alpha build, it is said that there is a Gold penalty on death; it is no longer applies in the beta test and might not exist in the launch version as well.
