Venturing into Capcom’s latest fantasy world takes a toll on all its adventurers, and we’re not referring to the damage people take whilst fighting. We’re referring to their poor knees after carrying the myriad of items the game has. To avoid becoming pack mules in Dragon’s Dogma 2, there’s an easy way to increase your carry weight. Initially, this might not seem like a priority, but wait until you start doing some dungeon-delving; you’ll wish you had a bag of holding.
How To Get More Carry Weight in Dragon’s Dogma 2
There is one sure way to increase your carry weight in Dragon’s Dogma 2, and that’s by grabbing the well-hidden Golden Trove Beetles. These little creatures are all over the map, and once you grab one, you can use it to get an extra 0.15kg in carry weight. It might not seem like a lot, but during your journey’s first hours, you’ll wish your back could carry more things.
According to the item’s description, you can also give the item to your main pawn so they can benefit from the bonus, but we haven’t seen that work yet. It’s unsure if they must consume it yet or just keep the item in their inventory. In the meantime, we recommend you use the Beetles on your Arisen instead of your pawn.
How To Get Golden Trove Beetles
The easiest way to find Golden Trove Beetles is by exploring the map at night. Whenever you are near one of these critters, they’ll emit a glowing golden light. During the day, it’ll be hard to spot them unless there are a lot of shadows. Instead, we recommend taking a nighttime expedition to find these insects.
Increasing Carry Weight Through Other Means
Other items in Dragon’s Dogma 2 allow you to increase your carry weight, such as rings or the Threw Augement from Fighters. Of all the alternative ways, we recommend leveling up your Fighter vocation to unlock this augment and swap to another one if that’s what you want. This works much better than other rings, and if you equip a ring only to carry more stuff, you’ll miss out on some different and better bonuses.
So, if you have the time to explore and aren’t afraid of the nightly terrors, head to Vermund or Battahl to do a bit of bug-hunting.
