Want to know how to make Animal and Fish Traps in Sons of the Forest? Hunting is an integral part of the Sons of the Forest gameplay because no matter how much you want to escape the island as soon as possible, you won’t be able to do it when you’re hungry. Fortunately, the island is full of animals you can catch and cook in the Fire. At first, you will have to run after them with an ax, but this hunting is not something an intelligent person wants to do. It is much more efficient to place a small trap and catch animals without effort. Luckily, you can make Animal Traps in Sons of the Forest using just a couple of sticks, and we’ll help you with that.
How to Make Animal Trap in Sons of the Forest
As we said, to make Animal Traps, you need only sticks, a Survival Guide, and five minutes of free time. First, walk through the forest and collect 14 Sticks (more if you want to create several traps). Take the Survival Guide and do the following to make Animal Trap in Sons of the Forest:
- Open the Guide.
- Press X a few times to go to the Traps tab.
- After that, select Small Animal Trap and place the ghost frame of the trap on the ground.
- Approach the trap frame and place the sticks by pressing E several times.
It is worth noting that if you do not have enough sticks, this is not a problem. The Animal Trap frame will stay where you place it and won’t fall apart if you use, for example, only five sticks instead of 14. Find more Sticks and complete the Animal Trap by pressing E a few times on the frame.
Next, you should leave and return to this place the next day. There will be a rabbit or a squirrel in the trap. But if the animal trap is empty, wait for a little or place more traps. After all, the forest is full of sticks, and you can make at least a hundred Small Animal Traps. Thanks to this simple structure, you will always have food. But remember that having found the animal in a trap, you still have to kill it.
How to Make Fish Trap in Sons of the Forest
In addition, you can diversify your diet with fish. Open the Survival Guide and go to the Traps tab. Follow the same steps as with Animal Trap except for a couple of exceptions:
- You can only place Fish Trap in water.
- You will need 25 sticks.
