This article is over 1 years old and may contain outdated information.

Powers, sharp fangs, a long cliché cape, and a creepy castle aren’t enough for you to become a vampire lord, no. You also need servants to do some dirty work and get rid of the vermin. Or, if you prefer, they can do this game’s version of “grocery shopping” involving hunting. For that, V Rising allows you to control humans and lead them into their cozy Servant Coffins to become part of your vampire army. However, the road to dominating humans is a long and costly one.

(Updated on May 7, 2024 – Clarified information)

Before becoming the lord of your army, you must complete the “Lord of the Manor” journal quest. This will unlock the Servant Coffin recipe, which you can create from the V Rising Building menu. To create a coffin, you will need the following:

  • x16 Plank
  • x8 Copper Ingot
  • x1 Greater Blood Essence

Some items and machines have different bonuses for being in a closed room or for the type of flooring to use. Placing a Servant Coffin on the Crypt Floor can reduce conversion time by 50%, which is handy because converting a servant takes 20 minutes of real-time.

Now that you have your Servant Coffin, it’s time to recruit your loyal followers and bring them to your castle. To persuade others to join your cause, you will need the ‘Dominating Presence‘ vampire ability, which is unlocked by following the journal quests. Once you have everything in place, follow these steps to recruit your followers and strengthen your castle:

  1. Leave your castle and look for a human along the way. It is easier to find them in camps.
  2. Open the Ability Selection by pressing the CTRL key and switch to the Dominant Presence. Your character will change to a purple aura.
  3. Place your pointer over different humans so you can see the characteristics of each one.
  4. The Vampire’s Kiss skill will appear on the R key. Use this ability to make people obey you.
  5. Once you control the human, walk towards your castle to make them follow you. Do not change to your wolf form or any other ability or teleport; you will cancel your control powers, and the human will run away or attack you.
  6. Take your servant to their coffin and click the Convert button after clicking on it. Then, wait for your human to finish its conversion process.

At first, your servant will only walk around your castle; if any enemy enters your elegant abode, your servant will defend it. But, as you progress through the quests, you will unlock the Castle Throne, a domination structure in the construction menu. From the Throne, you can send your servants on quests to earn resources, such as blood, treasure, or seeds.

Each servant has a percentage of power and perks in addition to their inventory and gear. So, be sure to prepare your followers accordingly for each mission. You can use your previous armor, but it is best to equip them with better equipment to ensure the success of their mission.
