Modding 7 Days To Die can greatly increase your enjoyment and playtime. This is because mods allow you to change or even remove features you don’t like in the game. Or you can add features and weapons you want in the game that don’t exist. In this way, you can customize the game according to your taste and enjoy the game much more. Although modding this game is not difficult, it is not as easy as games with Steam Workshop support. Since there is no Steam Workshop support, you have to download mods from different sites. Without further ado, here’s how to install mods to 7 Days To Die.
How To Install Mods To 7 Days To Die
Steam doesn’t offer official Steam Workshop support for the game, so you’ll have to download your mods from sites like Nexus Mods or 7 Days To Die Mods. Here are the steps you need to follow to mod the game:
- First of all, download the mods you want to add to the game from the websites mentioned above.
- Then go to your Steam Library and right-click on 7DTD and select Properties.
- Then select Browse under Installed Files.
- Afterward, click on “common” in the section above.
- Right-click on the 7DTD folder and select Copy, then paste it into the common folder.
- Rename the duplicate 7DTD folder to 7 Days To Die Modded.
- Enter the 7 Days To Die Modded folder and click on the Mods folder.
- Now extract the downloaded mods from the Zip File and put your mods in the Mods folder inside the 7 Days To Die Modded folder.
- Once you have all your mods in place, it’s time to head back to Steam.
- On Steam, select Add a Game at the bottom left and click Add a Non-Steam Game.
- In the window that opens, navigate to the 7DTD Modded folder, highlight “7dlauncher.exe”, and click Open.
- Then you will see the game added to Steam as 7dlauncher.
- Right-click on 7dlauncher and click Properties, in the window that opens change the name of the game to 7DTD Modded.
- Then click Play and Steam will automatically recognize your game’s files and show you as if you were playing a normal 7DTD game, not a Non-Steam game.
With that, you now have added your mods to 7 Days To Die.
