Every major patch brings new materials to FFXIV, and in 7.1, players can obtain the rare Royal Damask reagent. While you can obtain most crafting materials from gathering or exchanging currency, this one will take a lot of grinding and much luck, especially the latter, as you’ll be competing against the other 23 players for it. So, grab your favorite level 100 job and prepare to join one of the newest raids because the search for the Royal Damask is an arduous one.
How To Get Royal Damask in FFXIV 7.1
So far, the only way to obtain Royal Damask in FFXIV is through Jeuno: The First Walk, which is the first Alliance Raid of patch 7.1. Like other materials that drop from instances, this one is RNG-based, and even then, you’ll have to roll for it. This means that it might take you a lot of runs to obtain just one piece of it. Thankfully, that’s all you need to craft the item that needs this reagent. However, if you want to speed things up, there’s a pricey way to do so.
As you can see, this material is also available through the Market Board, but it is one of the most expensive to get. In my world, it goes from 3.5 million gil to almost 6 million, which is a hefty price to pay for only one material. Still, if you really want to craft the one craftable item, feel free to spend your hard-earned on this ingredient.
Crafting List
So far, you can craft only one item with Royal Damask in FFXIV: the Royal Bed, a level 100 Carpenter recipe. Frankly, I feel the furniture is a bit underwhelming for the price and effort behind it, but I can see some roleplaying venues making good use of it. In any case, here are the materials you need for it:
- Royal Damask x1
- Dark Mahogany x3
- White Gold Ingot x3
- Thunderyards Silk x3
- Ancient Lumber x3
- Ruby x3
- Wind Crystal x32
- Ice Crystal x32
If you really want to get this material, I recommend running the new raid over and over. While you can only get one piece of gear during the patch this instance releases, there are other goodies you can obtain aside from this reagent. You can get a few orchestrion rolls, minions, and many more. Plus, it is one of the best raids we’ve seen in the game so far, so it’s worth doing repeatedly. On the other hand, you can spend your gil on it if you have it, but it still feels like too much for just one material.
