The Stalker in Warframe was introduced more than a decade ago. Until recently, he was nothing more than an edgy hitman for players. Thankfully, the Jade Shadows update has not only shed more light on the Stalker’s past but also allowed players a chance to play as the Stalker (just not in PvP, sadly). This role and mechanic are somewhat hidden in Waframe. So allow me to teach you how to play as the Stalker in Warframe.
How to Unlock Playing as the Stalker in Warframe
Before anything, you will need to meet the prerequisites. You will first need to have the following quests unlocked and finished.
- Jade Shadows quest
- Jade Shadows has its own prerequisite called The New War quest.
It’s also worth noting that the quest itself lets you play as the Stalker for 30 minutes or so, performing regular Warframe missions and a cinematic gameplay sequence. However, if you want to play more as the Stalker, there is another, more generous method.
Play as the Stalker via Ordis
After you finish the Jade Shadows quest and want more fill of your Stalker gameplay. Head over to Ordis in Larunda Relay, Mercury. Follow these step-by-step instructions on how to further play as the Stalker in Warframe.
- Go to Larunda Relay, Mercury. Select any server/channel.
- As soon as you arrive, bring up the Main Menu and select Fast Travel.
- Fast Travel to Ordis.
- Talk to Ordis and select the ‘A Shared Purpose?‘
- Select ‘Yes.’
Afterward, you’ll randomly join an ongoing Ascension mission as a squad member but you will be controlling the Stalker instead of the Tenno/Warframe. Again, this role is strictly co-op or PvE; if you were expecting an Elden Ring or Souls-type PvP where you get to invade other players as the Stalker, that mode doesn’t exist.
If you die as the Stalker to enemies, however, you will lose all the rewards and loot. Your Tenno squadmates also won’t be able to revive you. Note that this mode can be buggy since it was just released.
