While many players will be overwhelmed with a bunch of new and unique mechanics for the genre, some are already wondering if there is a Quicksave option in Starfield. Bethesda is famous for offering a variety of save options in its previous games, including an autosave and a regular save option. We will explain how to Quicksave in Starfield down below.

In a game that is as big as Starfield with numerous planets to explore, not having a Quicksave option can be traumatizing. Imagine venturing on a quest that tasks you to travel from one system to another, and you have to wait for the autosave loading screen to appear so you can be sure that something important won’t be lost. Luckily, Starfield does have Quicksave and it is rather easily accessible. Follow these simple steps to Quicksave in Starfield:

  1. Open the Menu
  2. Once in the Menu, you need to press the Menu button again.
  3. This will take you to the System Menu.
  4. Navigate to the Quicksave option.
  5. Click it and your game will load from your last Quicksave.

Additionally, there is a quicksave button for all of those playing on PC. If you want to Quicksave your game in Starfield, all you need to do is press F5. This is the default key. Furthermore, Starfield on PC offers a bunch of other Quick-keys, including Quickload. If you would like to Quickload your game and avoid choosing a save file, simply press F9 on your keyboard and you will be back where you left off. To access Quick-keys on the Xbox controller press D-pad.

The Quicksave option in Starfield can come in handy in a handful of situations.  It is always a good thing to punch that Quicksave button. This will allow you to proceed further without fear of replaying if something unexpected happens. This can be anything from your character dying, or even game crashing. For instance, you can Quicksave whenever you are about to pick a hard lock, try to pass a persuasion check, or venture on some exploration/killing spree.

Starfield launches on PC & Xbox platforms on Sept. 1.
