Are you starting to have trouble clearing missions in Fire Emblem Engage? Or do you just want to catch up on units that have fallen behind? Of course, this means it’s time to grind EXP, money, Ranks, and other rewards; and the best way to do it is by farming Skirmishes. If you have some time to spare, here’s how you can easily respawn Skirmishes to grind EXP and money in Fire Emblem Engage.
How to Respawn Skirmishes Fast to Grind EXP and Money in Fire Emblem Engage
Skirmishes are side missions in the World Map that you can clear out for additional EXP, items, and money. But, once you have cleared out the map, they seem to be gone forever. Well, the first thing you need to know is that Skirmishes will respawn whenever a number of real-world time has passed.
Now, taking that into account, that means tweaking your Nintendo Switch clock can affect how the game works! Here’s what you need to do:
- With Fire Emblem Engage still running, press the Home button to return to the Home menu.
- Open the Settings menu.
- Go to the System option.
- Open the Date and Time option.
- Turn off your Switch’s internet-adjusted clock by manually changing it.
- Set it an hour or two — or even a month or a year or two — ahead of your current date.
- Jump back to Fire Emblem Engage again.
- Go to the World Map.
- Check if any Skirmishes have spawned.
- Repeat this process as often as you’d like to refresh more Skirmishes.
To maximize your EXP and money grinding time in Fire Emblem Engage, you also need to learn which refreshed Skirmishes you want to clear since there are four different types of them:
- Skirmish: Standard Skirmish that gives out EXP, Support Ranks, and Emblem Bond Rank during the battle; and Bond Fragments, Animals to adopt, and materials after it.
- Training: Battles in Castles which gives out money, 3,000 EXP, and a bonus of 50 EXP to every participating unit.
- Silver Corrupted: A Skirmish where special Silver Corrupted enemies will spawn, which rewards additional EXP.
- Gold Corrupted: A Skirmish where special Gold Corrupted enemies will spawn, which rewards money when defeated.
If you need to grind EXP, then obviously, clearing out Training and Silver Corrupted Skirmishes is the best way to do it. Reddit user TobioOkuma1 also found a way to grind EXP by healing, using Frame and Vander:
“I had Framme spam chain guard to take a hit for my weaponless Vander, which gave her EXP, then healed her with staves from a Miciah boosted Yunaka. It grinded so much EXP, and cost around 1k in staves for several levels each in one map.”
In the same thread, dryzalizer also adds that there is another way to utilize Micaiah boost:
“You can also clear maps efficiently and still use the Micaiah-boosted ability to heal everyone on the field at least a couple times on most maps for two full levelups in addition to whatever other healing and exp gain you’re getting.”
Meanwhile, go with Gold Corrupted for more money. Don’t forget to pick up any purple mist circles on the ground to acquire more weapons you can sell for a further cash bonus. Using Anna and Leif Emblem can also increase your chance of getting even more money if implemented correctly. From their Luck stats, Anna can proc 500 bonus Gold per kill, while Leif can bring you more rewards when you utilize his Vantage Skill to take out enemies fast.
Lastly, keep in mind that this trick might not work in the Maddening difficulty level because Maddening practically gives you a limited chance to grind XP and money, and you will rarely see Skirmishes at all.
