There are several skills and classes you can take in Warhammer 40K: Rogue Trader, letting you triumph over enemies in combat. With all the stats and abilities, it’s great to experiment and see what works for you. Unfortunately, it also means you can make mistakes and create sub-optimal characters. If skills don’t work as you thought they would, this makes the game significantly harder. Is there a way to reset or respec skills in Warhammer 40K: Rogue Trader, or are you stuck with what you have?
Resetting Skills in Warhammer 40K: Rogue Trader
To reset skills in Warhammer 40K: Rogue Trader, you must be in your voidship and on the bridge. Look for High Factorum Janris Danrok, who is standing near the globe and working on something else. Speak to him and scroll down the options until you see an option about sparring. Janris will talk about going to the training grounds, but this is the actual command for a skill reset.
Any character can have their skills reset, not just your main character. This reverts your character to Level 1 but allows you to redistribute their skill points and change archetypes. Any stat boosts gained by leveling up are also reset, allowing you to specialize in something different. Resetting will remove all weapon and armor proficiencies that may result in characters dropping equipment.
You must reset characters once at a time, and you can’t reset your character’s appearance through this method. There is no limit on the number of times you can reset, allowing you to do this every time you return to the voidship. This is great for experimenting with different situations, or testing builds in the field. It also prevents you from being locked into bad ability configurations, though you still need good equipment.
