If you feel a little lonely in Warframe, the game now allows you to go out and find your one and only, via the Warframe 1999 update. Warframe 1999 introduced six human versions of existing Warframes (Protoframes) which your Drifter character can romance. Among them, Eleanor, the Protoframe version of Nyx seems to have won the hearts of the community. So here’s a guide on how to romance Eleanor in Warframe 1999,ย which is something you can also use to romance other characters in Warframe.

Now hold up a minute, here’s what you need before you get all lovey-dovey with the Warframe 1999 Protoframes or Hex members.

  1. Finish all the preceding main quests.
  2. Finish “The Hex” main quest.
  3. Activate the weird terminal called Pom-2 PC to the right of the Orbiter’s computer.

If you’re new to the game, then that’s quite a long effort to get to Warframe 1999 but it’s worth it since the free expansion adds a lot to the lore and certainly adds more polished and modern content to the game.

The romance and relationship system in Warframe is simpler and more casual than you think. Most of the “bonding” or “courtship” (you prude), happens via a digital chat called K.I.M. with any (or all) of the six Hex members or Protoframes.

Here’s how to initiate the K.I.M. system in Warframe to pursue romance:

  1. Again, meet the requirements as stated above.
  2. Open the Pom-2 PC (to the right of the Orbiter Navigation).
  3. Select the third tab (the one with the chatbox).
  4. Select a Hex member with the exclamation notification.
  5. Chat with the Hex members as long as they’re online.
  6. Once the Hex member is online, click on their Profile to check the Notes.
  7. You can choose to give them gifts based on the Notes.
  8. Additionally, you can head over to Hollvania Central Mall (via the Pom-2 PC NavNow) to talk to each of the Hex members personally to see if they have a new interaction.
  9. Do the same process again the next day as Hex member chat opportunities reset daily.

Chemistry is what you need to build up to pursue a romantic relationship with the Hex member of your choice. There are three key ways to increase Chemistry with a Hex member:

  • Picking the right answer in the chat box.
  • Giving them Gifts.
  • Performing Bounties related to a Hex member on the Calendar in the Pom-2 PC.

Depending on where the digital chat with a Hex member goes, you can meet up with them in Hollvania or not if you botch it (which is difficult to do since you get cues).

These actions will not affect your Standing with The Hex syndicate and you can also reset the dialog and Chemistry with a particular Hex member once the Hollvania year has ended (check the Calendar on the Pom-2 PC).
