Do you want to know how to save in Atomic Heart? Atomic Heart is out and has been surprisingly good. Considering the budget limitation, we only have words of praise for the developers.
Jump in the boots of the mad Russian Agent codenamed P-3 and fight off the robot revolution in the utopian Soviet Union of the ’50s. All the futuristic yet retro designs the game offers will inspire you, including the save mechanics. Although saving the progress in Atomic Heart can confuse some players, don’t worry about losing your progress. This guide will show you how to save in Atomic Heart.
Atomic Heart: How to Save
Atomic Heart uses a rather odd and retro mechanic for saving your progress. You need to locate red stations scattered around Facility 3826.
When you start the campaign, you won’t be able to save until you descend into the underground and find yourself wandering through robot-infested corridors of facility 3826.
Before this happens, the game will autosave at certain checkpoints preventing you from losing your progress. We assume you won’t have any problems passing the opening chapter of this first-person shooter.
Once you pass the opening chapter, a bunch of Save Rooms will be scattered around the facility. In these rooms, you will find save stations in the form of Red Telephone Boots. These rooms are also a secret to upgrading weapons in Atomic Heart.
The best way to find these Save Rooms is to follow the path of the main quest. You are bound to find the Save Room, and you will be able to save in Atomic Heart.
Once you get near the red telephone booth, you can interact with it by pressing RB/R1 and manually save.
Furthermore, Atomic Heart will also continue to save your progress automatically. However, these automatic saves are pretty rare. They will happen after or before key narrative moments, before the main boss battle, and at the beginning of every level.
