Despite its beauty, Nightingale can be a challenging game that takes a lot of effort, so saving your progress is crucial to make it through its realms. Lately, many survival games have created new ways to save a player’s progress. Whether you have to make a tent similar to Sons of the Forest or have a lot of save files like Subnautica, there’s always a way to keep your journey safe. And thankfully, Nightingale isn’t the exception.

Nightingale does a fantastic job of explaining the core gameplay concepts but leaves a few out for you to discover. While it does not pertain to crafting or surviving, saving your game in Nightingale is vital. After all, no one would like to lose their hard-earned progress by forgetting how to save. Before we delve into how to do it, we must clarify that there isn’t an option to manually save your game. When it comes to this installment, it is better to treat it as if it were an online entry, which, in part, is. Instead of having save files, you have character profiles. These profiles save your progress whenever you log out of the game. To ensure you save your game correctly in Nightingale, we recommend the following:

  1. Head to the settings and select “system.”
  2. Select “Quit Game.”
  3. To be safe, we recommend selecting “Logout” instead of Quit to Desktop.
  4. You’ll return to the main menu and see your character. This means the game was saved successfully.

The reason why there isn’t a manual save file slot might be due to the multiplayer nature of the game. Also, if you didn’t know, you must be online at all times to play Nightingale. Even if you are playing alone, an internet connection is required. Hopefully, we’ll get a proper single-player mode down the road, but for now, this is the only way to save your game in Nightingale.
