Old fans of Supermassive Games know the drill; almost every character is not safe from meeting an untimely death in The Quarry. The new interactive horror video game has a large cast of characters that centers around nine camp counselors who must survive the night from supernatural enemies and other threats. Any seemingly irrelevant decision can lead to awful tragedy chapters later in the game, like a gruesome butterfly effect, so it’s essential to be cautious of anything. One character, Chris Hackett, is the owner of the camp who hides a massive secret from players and can either be saved or killed by players. So for gamers who want to see the outcomes of both options, here is how to save or kill Chris in The Quarry.

Can You Save Chris? Explained

Unfortunately, there is no way that gamers will be able to stop Chris from being bitten by the werewolf. The way players can in some way save Chris in The Quarry is to refuse Laura’s offer to bite Ryan and prevent him from turning into a werewolf in chapter nine. Then, when fans get to the part where Travis tells Ryan to shoot Chris, choose to hesitate and spare him.

This will result in Werewolf Chris repaying the player’s kindness by killing Ryan right after by bashing his head in with the gun. Additionally, both werewolf Laura and Travis will kill each other simultaneously, with players being rewarded the “Mutually Assured” trophy.

How to Kill Chris

The only possible way to kill Chris in The Quarry is to get to the same point in the game where Laura prompts Ryan to shoot him after they fall through the floor in the Hackett house. Her reason is that she wants to end the curse for Max and the other bitten characters, depending on the player’s choices.

If fans do as she says, they get to blow Chris’s head off and save all the bitten character’s from their curse. However, the night is still young, and there is some unfinished business for gamers to take care of. Fans will need to take out the first werewolf, the “white wolf,” if they want to finally put this long night to rest.

These are the two ways to save or kill Chris in The Quarry. If fans are unhappy with their decisions, there are ways to go back and make other choices to lead up to the desired outcome.

The Quarry is available for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.
