Whether you are a veteran or new, there are things to know about scouting in Madden 23. Unlike previous versions, Madden 23 makes scouting easier and more realistic. This is made possible by additional features such as the requirement to hire scouts in particular regions. This guide looks at these extended features and how to scout players in Madden 23 using them.

On your first week, on the sim, head to the Scouting menu to see the list of the incoming rookies plus the group of your five scouts. Each of your scouts has a tier-level and a position expertise. These qualities dictate how quickly they can learn about the available rookies. For example, the efficiency boost of Tier 1 scouts is 5% when they are looking for a player of their expertise. Tier 2 scouts spot a 15% boost, while Tier 3 scouts boast a massive 25% boost. Thus, when looking at the draft, ensure your scout’s assignments align with their area of expertise. You will get a rookie that will work magic on your team.

How to Change Scouts and Regions

If you are not satisfied with the expertise of your scouts, you can replace them by navigating to the Scouting’s Region Breakdown tab. And although every scout comes with a set region where they can evaluate rookies, this is also changeable from the same tab. If you choose to use this handy function, change the regions of your scouts to regions that match the player’s expertise.

As soon as your scouting regions are set, you will begin to see various prospects and their attributes. You can click on the prospects to see your scout’s notes on them and their possible ratings. But you will not be able to see the exact ratings until you have drafted them. For more intel on the prospects, refer to mock drafts and Drafts combination results. Mock draft results can be assessed from the Franchise home menu, while draft Combine Results are available in the prospect’s profile.

These features are excellent for one-to-one comparisons between players. They make it easier for you to choose the right player for your team. If you fail to land the player of your choice, you can always seek them out in the NFL. That’s all there is to know about scouting in Madden 23.
