This article is over 3 years old and may contain outdated information.

In the NFL, teams are constantly relocating, so you would expect the same to be true in Madden 23. After all, the game is a sim of a real-life event. Relocation — a little-known feature, by the way — also lets you model a team according to your tastes, thus giving you more control over the team’s performance. You also get to leave your unique mark on the league. We have prepared this guide for you if you are interested in all of this. It will teach you how to relocate a team in Franchise mode in Madden 23.

Notably, you won’t be able to relocate a team within the first year. Thus, we advise you to play happily while waiting for the season to pass. When it is time to relocate, ensure you are the owner instead of the head coach. If you have all that accomplished, follow the steps below to start the relocation process:

  1. Go to the main menu and hit the “Manage Team” option
  2. Select the ‘Stadium’ option
  3. Select ‘Relocate’
  4. Wait for a few weeks
  5. In the fifth week or around that time, you will be prompted to “Start Relocation.”

Once you are done with the steps above, you also be prompted to choose:

  • A city to relocate to
  • Your team name and logo
  • The uniform
  • Stadium

Even after following these steps, you might also fail to relocate because, by default, your team’s stadium rating must be an awful 20 for relocation. But there is a workaround for this issue. The following are the steps to take:

  1. On the Franchise screen, go over the “Options.”
  2. Select “Franchise Settings”
  3. Select “League Settings”
  4. Under “Commissioner Settings,” scroll down to the “Relocation Settings” option.
  5. Go through the options until you find “Everyone can relocate.”

By selecting this option, you can relocate your team without any hurdles.

While you can choose many of your team’s features following a relocation, there are many pre-assigned team logos and names to choose from. Some examples include the San Antonio Express, the Dublin Shamrocks, and the London Black Nights. You can choose any of these or develop a custom look for your team.

That is all there is to know on how to relocate a team in Franchise mode in Madden 23.
