With the unfortunate fall of the popular GShade plugin, maybe players want to set up ReShade in FFXIV to improve the look of the popular MMO. Final Fantasy XIV has some amazing cutscenes during its main story quests and plenty of rewards for you to earn along the way. It is only natural to want the game to look as pretty as possible while engaging in it. If you want to set up ReShade for FFXIV, there are only a few simple steps that you need to follow to get it up and running.
How to Set Up ReShade for FFXIV

In order to set up ReShade in FFXIV, you must first download it from the official plugin website. You will want to scroll down to the bottom of the page and choose the option to download ReShade with full add-on support.
Once downloaded, all you need to do is follow the instructions from the installer to set up ReShade in FFXIV. This involves navigating to the proper path when prompted. This is usually found under C:\Program Files (x86)\SquareEnix\FINAL FANTASY XIV – A Realm Reborn\game\ffxiv_dx11. However, this may be under a different location if you did not install it to the default spot.
To set up ReShade further, you next need to select Direct 10/11/12 when the installer asks which one to use. After this, you can press skip or install the ReShade base files depending on if you want their defaults or to use your own. If this is your first time using ReShade in FFXIV, it is advised to allow the installer to install the base presets. This should be the final step to get Reshade working in Final Fantasy XIV.
Using GShade Presets for ReShade in FFXIV
The previously popular GShade plugin is no longer receiving updates, so you may want to set up ReShade in its place because of this inconvenience. If you find yourself in this position, the Final Fantasy XIV community has banded together to provide a Google Drive link with the various GShade presets that are no longer available. You can place these presets in the FFXIV game folder to allow for their use in the MMO. However, be sure to follow the instructions provided by the creators, or the presets could look wrong when mixed with ReShade presets.
Keep in mind that you can only use ReShade on the PC version of the game. Final Fantasy XIV is also available on PC, but plugins are unavailable on console. The use of add-ons is also against the terms of service. While ReShade is extremely safe, it always will have the potential to get you banned if you make it known that you are using it.
