How To Spend Time With Classic Friends in Dreamlight Valley

What’s a classic friend, anyway?

Disney Dreamlight Valley‘s new “Laugh Floor” update brought a lot of new monster-themed content to the game. Most famously, it brought Mike and Sulley to Dreamlight Valley, along with a ton of customization options for your avatar. What’s a little less well-known, however, is the fact that the update also brought the “Lovely Monsters” Star Path, which somehow manages to mix Monsters Inc. content with rosy, Valentine’s Day-themed items and make it work. However, some of the Dreamlight tasks included in the Star Path can be a little vague, such as the “Spend Time With Classic Friends” task, which is really confusing if you don’t know who they mean.

To start, we need to define what a “classic friend” is. Disney doesn’t provide any clues in the game, but they mean Mickey and any of his classic friends – at least, the ones currently included in Disney Dreamlight Valley. That means that you need to find any of these characters:

  • Mickey Mouse
  • Minnie Mouse
  • Goofy
  • Donald Duck
  • Scrooge McDuck

It’s important to note that you might not be able to find some of the characters if they’re sleeping; if you can’t find a specific character, look on the map to see if their icon is in their house, as they might be catching some Z’s. If you’re looking for a particular villager to spend some time with for this task, we recommend coming back in their waking hours. If you’re not picky, try spending time with Scrooge McDuck since his quest for the next dollar never sleeps, and he’s always in his shop.

To “Spend Time with Classic Friends,” like it says on the Star Path, you just need to go up to one of the characters on the list above, ask them to hang out with you, and wait 15 real-world minutes. After the 15 minutes are up, the task will automatically be completed, and you’ll be able to collect 5 Laugh Canisters from the Event page. You can spend the time doing anything around the Valley – it doesn’t matter what, so long as you don’t stop hanging out with the character. However, since you’re hanging out anyway, we recommend taking advantage of the character’s Hangout Bonus and mining, fishing, foraging, digging, or harvesting accordingly.
